My small & wild arctic garden at the Cabin - Season 1 2025
Most of what I forage and harvest in the wild forests, but I also have a small garden plot that I experiment and grow on. The vision is a mix of wild and domestic. I want to take care of Currants and Rhubarb that are 100 years old and have spread wildly all over the area here, while also trying to create small pockets where I can grow a few other things. Like potatoes and vegetables. And who knows, maybe I'll even create a little mushroom paradise? That's a dream.
Part 1 - It is April and its time to prep for the garden beds. I have so much debris and twigs that were cleared out and I want to put them to good use.
Part 2 - Late May and the first hardy plants are going into the soil. Potatoes are a must
Part 3 - Still waiting for warmer weather but now the other plants have to go outside. Will they survive in this hard climate?
Part 4 - Returning to the cabin after 2 weeks away. Has the plants survived?
Part 5 - July came with a heat wave, hundreds of buckets of water to be hauled from the stream to the garden. The first vegetables can be harvested.
